Introducing Paxton John, born 10/16/17, to our neighbors who have, over the past 5 years, become dear friends. His parents, Erica and Aaron, moved into their house 2 months before we moved into our house 5 years ago. Who knew then, that our kids would be best friends, sharing yards and laughs everyday after racing home from the bus stop. Paxton is baby brother to two his sweet big brothers, Carter and Hudson. After the heartache of miscarriages, Paxton is their rainbow boy. I was overjoyed when Erica asked if I would do his newborn session. YES!! 100% yes. We love you dear family and are so happy for your blessing of precious Paxton.
This past weekend I had the awesome opportunity to do a studio session with three gorgeous sisters. Makeup artist Haley Reinecker was on hand to do some amazing artwork. Her canvases were flawless. Her skills were perfection. The sisters, stunning. Thank you Mery, Pam, and Carla for this awesome shoot.

I can't say enough about this shoot. A vision that quickly came to reality when a team of super creatives, beautiful models, talented stylists, and a concept designer met on a chilly, sunshine filled day. Armed with wardrobes, makeup, hair products, and a camera, we made our way thru York County with the goal of creating a stellar editorial styled shoot.
a huge THANK YOU to the creative team!!

Maddy is a 19 year old cancer survivor. In her freshmen year at Pitt, she was diagnosed with lymphoma. She underwent treatment, lost her hair, but kept her smile. It has been one year since her last treatment, and she is healthy. She is headed back to Pitt next week and is studying to be a doctor. She was the inspiration behind the Cancer Recovery Glam Photo Shoot at Lauxmont Farms last month.
In an article posted by the York Daily Record, Maddy said, "I wanted other kids to see how beautiful and strong they looked to other people." When Maddy and I met, I was immediately taken away by her beautiful smile. As the day went on, it was evident that her beauty went much further than the skin.
I was so honored to be chosen as her photographer. Her beauty radiates and her smile is absolutely contagious. I am forever changed by meeting you Madison!
Strength does not come from physical capacity.
It comes from an indomitable will. ~Ghandi

Last October, my friend Janelle and I were sitting at my dining room table thinking about doing another styled shoot together. We knew we wanted to focus on men. As we were bouncing ideas off each other, we came up with the groomsmen concept - focusing on their day of a wedding. Janelle's eye lit up wide and she excitedly said, "ooohhhh....let's shoot it at that place, oh what's it called??? Guys go sit in chairs, get shaved....." I said, "A barbershop??" and then we laughed hysterically. Still a good joke today. And from there, our shoot quickly evolved.
The good gentlemen at The Black Comb in Lancaster welcomed us with open arms and were so accommodating. Janelle, owner and operator of Nipit Branding, did an amazing job of finding the best vendors for us.
Our concept was this - start at the barbershop - showcase the groom and his groomsmen getting cleaned up and ready for the wedding, all while hanging out and drinking some good beer. From there we took them to a rooftop to enjoy a toast to the groom followed by some relaxing at Lancaster Brewing Company before the wedding festivities begin. Then our beautiful bride shows up for some before wedding photos with the groom. And finally at the end of the day - we celebrated with a custom made groomsman cake. The day was beautiful. Our vendors and models were a dream to work with. And best of all - we pitched the idea to GIBS grooming who loved it, wrote an article for Modern Salon magazine on the concept of barbershops offering their clients wedding packages and used our pictures from the shoot!
Thank you so much to all the models and vendors who helped make this shoot a HUGE success!!!

Hi! Welcome to Urban Original Photography! My name is Emily and I'm so thrilled to welcome you here.
I have loved photography for over a decade. I come alive behind the camera. To capture the moments that go by so fleetingly. To capture the beauty of a quick glance that would otherwise be forgotten without the click of the shutter.
As I dabbled in all forms of photography - lifestyle, weddings, newborns, portraits, etc., - it quickly became clear to me where my passion lies... - edgy styled portrait and editorial photography.
I specialize in photography for your website, business, magazine, personal or profession styled shoot, and brand promotion. My desire is that my passion helps your passion grow and succeed.
